Conveyancing Legal Assistant


Our well established client is seeking a experienced Conveyancing Administration Assistant / Legal Secretary to join their very busy team based in their Edgbaston Office which is due to open end of April/May – prior to this you will need to be able to commute to Handworth until the new office is open.

You will join an experienced team of lawyers and fellow Conveyancing Assistants, with a friendly and collaborative culture, where you will predominantly support a Fee Earner on a 1-2-1 basis.

The successful Conveyancing Assistant must have: • At least 2 years of experience as a legal secretary/assistant in a conveyancing department.
• Fast and accurate typing skills, ideally 70 wpm
• Excellent English speaking and writing skills
• Proficient in using Microsoft Word
• Great organisational skills

Duties include but not limited to:

• Open files
• Deal with AML requirements
• Issue initial letters to clients
• Draft contracts and transfers
• Complete SDLT applications
• Prepare LR applications
• Deal with correspondence post exchange and on completion
• Receptionist cover will also be required
